Practical Anatomy For Yoga
Series 3: Shoulders and Arms
November 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th
In this small group class (maximum 4 students), you will learn how your body works and how to apply that knowledge to create strength, flexibility and balance in your yoga poses. A little bit of anatomy in each class combined with movement explorations and asana will revitalize and bring deeper intelligence to your practice. This is a perfect chance to learn about your own strengths and limitations, and have your questions answered in a small group setting with plenty of personal attention.
This 90-minute workshop will start with a grounding and empowering invocation, moving into a grounding, area-based vinyasa flow. After strengthening, and warming the body, practice will close with a 25-minute restorative practice and seated meditation. All levels are welcome.
A 90 minute class that stays close to the ground. Long held postures using the support of bolsters, blankets, straps, and blocks. Practice unwinding, settling and easing your way into the week ahead. Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start on time.
A break in the middle of the day, a time to step away from work, and center ourselves. Relax, quiet and steady the mind. Unravel the tension from the body. Move. Loosen up. This one hour class will focus on restorative postures and basic asanas that can be a re-set for both body and mind. It’s appropriate for all levels.
$99 for the 6-class series or $20/drop-in if space allows
Gua Sha, also known as “skin scraping” or “pressure stroking” is an ancient instrument-assisted massage technique utilized in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Facial Gua Sha has become a treatment all its own. Instead of using lots of pressure and quick scraping motions, it’s a gentle but firm slow pull of the skin with the same intention of moving blood and lymph and manipulate the subdermal fascia.
During this Facial Gua Sha workshop, you will learn a simple 5-minute sequence you can practice every day by yourself. The work will focus on releasing tension in the head and face promoting lymphatic drainage.
*The workshop includes a Facial Gua Sha plate to take home. Face oil and toner will be provided during the session but you are welcome to bring your own.
This class begins with a 30-min pilates & yoga workout written to integrate & balance this particular full moon in our physical bodies. We transition to build a beautiful altar, discuss the current lunation, where it sits in the zodiac, how it will affect us as a collective then experience a guided meditation, and a single card tarot pull for each attendee after.
Each attendee can ask one question of the tarot, these questions must be phrased in a manner that can be answered yes or no - Tandy will channel additional information as it comes through with each card. *These readings are done seated together, as a group. We'll close with tea to ground and close our ritual.
Class size is limited to 11. Book early to reserve your spot!
